This baby possum (opossum) was eating when a raccoon kit comes up and sniffs him and then they both freak out and run from each other. They came back seconds later tho 🙂

We had a ripe banana that we were gonna compost but ended up cutting it up and leaving for the possum. The raccoons are generally not interested in bananas but they do love figs, pears, berries, and persimmons from our yard. October 2025, Charleston SC
