So excited to finally see a mama opossum with babies (called joeys) visible in her pouch!

She stops by one waterbowl for a long drink and grooms her pouch and a couple babies and then moves over to a different waterbowl where she has a nondescript interaction with a raccoon.

Raccoons and possums generally get along great. There were three possums in the yard last night and two of them had a pouchful of babes. Charleston SC April 2026
