Eastern Grey Squirrel Gnawing On A Pear

This eastern grey squirrel is eating a pear in a pear tree near a marsh in coastal Charleston SC. S/he discards the peel and eats the insides. The squirrel doesn’t eat it all but will come back for it later. Sometimes it likes to take bites of several pears to see which one is the ripest. What the squirrel doesn’t eat will be eaten by the raccoons or possums later.
