    This is a juvenile yellow crowned night heron out on his own for the first time. This is one of four juveniles from a family that frequents our dock regularly. He’s on the dock looking for Fiddler Crabs to eat, but he just needs to look behind him!

    This is a great blue heron sitting on top of a perch of a rusty dock shed. He’s itching and scratching and preening and observing his/her kingdom. The rusty pink shoulders of a great blue heron are completely normal. They are not injuries but just Mother Natures and God’s great dynamic work!
