This turkey vulture ate a dead stingray in the marsh and comes up to the dock to feak. Feaking is the act of a bird cleaning and or honing it’s beak after eating. In Charleston SC, they have to work with the tides to eat. They can’t eat the things they can’t see or get…

This is the first litter of raccoon babies for our property in June of 2025 in Charleston SC. These kits are at least 8 weeks old as that is when they start moving around with mama. It will be fun to watch them grow this summer and fall. They should stick around with mama for…

This laughing seagull has his / her breeding colors going. Orange / red bill, darker hooded head, and white crescent shaped incomplete eye rings around the eyes. The laughing gull spits up something, gets kicked off by another laughing gull, and then gets run off by a yellow crowned night heron in it’s breeding plumage.…

These two raccoons are having a time. Mating season is mostly done and the raccoons are all eating well in the marsh. It seems like they have more time to play and romp around and be rascals. Charleston SC, May 2025

Possums and raccoons are around each other all the time. The raccoons don’t seem to mind but the possums generally don’t like all the raccoon drama :). We had a rainstorm that day, so maybe the opossum hadn’t dried off yet or perhaps he/she spent a little time in the marsh. Charleston SC March 2025

These two raccoons hang out together all the time. One gets over stimulated sometimes and shakes his head but there is nothing wrong with him. There are two different camera views of the same interaction. One with our zoomable camera and one with the stationary water bowl camera that is covered in palm boots. Charleston,…
