This raccoon family has the mama and four kits. We named mama Poppette because she only had an injured eye that thankfully healed.

Raccoons love the berries of the Sabal Palm tree and don’t generally cause the tree harm as they evolved with it.

The “boots” are the fronds on the palm tree and come off with age. Some people remove them anyway, but the raccoons are helping remove them over time by climbing them. Charleston SC Nov 10, 2025
