Two turkey vultures are in an oak tree along the marsh and then fly down to a shed. One is sunning and the other is curious about the ground where our compost bin is. Alas, it’s just veggies!
Turkey vultures are sweet, goofy, and very fast runners. They have a great sense of smell to help them scavenge and eat dead things. And their noses are see through – so cool.
Thank a turkey vulture or black vulture the next time you see one. They are cleaning up our ecosystem one dead thing at a time and reducing our workload and risk of disease!
