Hi! We’re Beckie and Toby. We live on a marsh in Charleston SC and love to watch the birds and the bees.
We’re learning about nature and have this wildlife camera in our backyard to share what we see and learn. There’s no mic set up because we don’t want you to hear our secret back porch conversations 🙂
We live on ½ an acre and have a mostly native landscape focused on feeding the birds, wildlife, and us. There are loquats, pecan trees, hollies, native grasses, flowers, and shrubs, mature fig trees, blackberry vines, raspberry vines, meyers lemon, pomegranate, persimmon, and a pear tree, and wax myrtles.
We have three water stations for animals. One on the One on the dock for the shorebirds (yup they drink fresh water), one on the ground for the mammals at night that the songbirds have taken over during the day, and anothersafely away from the raccoons and just for the birds. A hummingbird feeder comes out during migration.
We don’t feed the birds or the mammals food from the house. Having said that, the occasional ripe banana or apple might make its way out the back door 🙂
